Milka Choco Wafer

You may know from reading past blog posts of mine that  a) I really enjoy a good wafer and b)for the most part, I am a fan of Milka product (including their cookies and popcorn chocolate), so when I saw these Milka Choco Wafers in the local store I could not help but try them.

I was really happy to see that each of the 6 round milk-chocolate covered wafer where individually wrapped in foil to help prevent them from going stale once you opened the package. That is always a plus in my book. 

When I bit into the wafer I was thrilled. I thought the crispy fresh wafer was coated in the perfect amount of the creamy rich milk-chocolate that Milka is so well known for. Both flavors and textures worked perfectly well together for me.

One thing that often bothers me in let’s say Elite wafers, is that I seem to think they have a grainy texture in the wafer filling. These Milka Choco Wafers do not have that issue whatsoever in their chocolate flavor cream filling.

One review I read on-line about these Milka Choco Wafers said he thought the coating was a little too thick of a chocolate coating for the size of the actual wafer, but he also said he was not a huge fan of Milka milk-chocolate to start with. So I guess if you’re not a Milka milk-chocolate fan you may not love these wafers as much as I do.

Price: Another reviewer mentioned the high price. Most of the major supermarkets I saw these wafers in priced them between 14.00-16.00 NIS for a pack of 6. I agree that is overpriced, but I also found them in a few mini-markets for 10.00-11.00 NIS a pack and I thought that was a more fair price. Then again I like these Milka Choco Wafers too much to allow myself to buy them on a regular basis.

Bottom Line: As a fan of both Milka products and better quality wafers I really enjoyed these Milka Choco Wafers. I thought their signature milk-chocolate coating and the crispy wafer worked perfectly well together. For me it was a rich indulgent treat I have to stop myself from buying too often because I like them that much.
