My Kosher for Pesach Posts from Last Year

Klik Kosher for Pesach Wafer Roll
קליק חטיף וופל כשר לפסח |
Last
year I reviewed a few of Klik Kosher for Pesach Chocolate Covered Cereal snack packs. They are available again this year but my assumption is they are the
exact same product I reviewed last year so I don't plan on re-reviewing those or any of the Pesach products I posted about last year. That is unless I try
something and it seems very different to what I tasted and reviewed last year but
my guess is that will not happen much.
One
Klik snack I didn’t review last year was this Chocolate Covered Kosher for
Pesach Nougat filled Wafer Roll. The package says it’s a “new recipe” but I
didn’t taste it last year so I can’t compare it to that.
They
come in a white chocolate coating and a milk chocolate coating. I wanted to try
both but the supermarkets I went to only had the milk chocolate one. So that’s
the one I will review here.

Product Of The Year Winners 2012
מוצרי השנה 2012 |
The
annual Product of the Year Awards took place recently. I wrote about it here
on Isreview last year as well. Since many of the food and drink winners this year are
products I reviewed within the past year I thought it would be even more fun
and interesting for me to blog about the winners this time.
Awards
are given in other categories aside from food, snacks and drinks but since this blog is about
95% food, snacks and drink reviews I will mostly mention the food, snacks and drink winner.
If you want to see the winners in other categories you can check out the Product of the Year website for all the details.
Let’s
get started with the Food and Snack items... And The Winners Are...

Sucrazit’s Stevia Based Sweetener Packets
סוכרזית סטייוויה |
Sucrazit,
one of Israel’s leading sugar substitute companies, have finally gotten on
board and came out with a Stievia based sweetener in packets. For years now I have
been looking for a convenient stevia based sweetener here in Israel. I was able
to find dried stevia leaves or a liquid alcohol based one but those did not
suit my needs. I ended up buying stevia packets from overseas but now finally
they are available here, from Sucrazit. They can be found at many of the major
supermarkets most likely in the “health food” department.
In
case you’re unfamiliar with what stevia is here is a rundown from Wikipedia:

Osem’s Hazelnut Lachmit Crackers, Tnuva’s Low Lactose 5% Soft White Cheese & Beit Hashita’s Green Pitted Olives in Lemon Seasoning
I have three products that I wanted to tell you about but for one reason or another I don’t
have that much to write about each of them. I thought I'd just give you a short Bottom Line on each one, in case you saw them in
the store and wondered if you should try them.
The three products are: Osem’s Hazelnut Lachmit Crackers, Tnuva’s Low Lactose 5% Soft White Cheese & Beit Hashita’s Green Pitted Olives in Lemon Seasoning.

Loacker Chocolate Coated Wafer Sheets
פולייט של לואקר דפי וופל |
Loacker
has a new product on the local market; Chocolate Coated Wafer Sheets. They come
in two flavors. One is a white (vanilla) wafer sheet coated in 73% milk-chocolate
and drizzled with 9% dark-chocolate and the second is a dark (chocolate) wafer
sheet coated in 73% dark-chocolate and has a 9% white-chocolate drizzle.
The
Loacker website describes them as:
“Light and crispy wafer leaves covered with the finest chocolate: what a
delight! Incredibly rich in chocolate (82% of the product) and so
irresistible…perfectly in line with the expectations of chocolate lovers
searching for light crispiness“
Being a big fan of
chocolate, and many other Loacker product, their description sealed the deal,
now I surely wanted to try this.

Shufersal's Big Pretzel Twists
בייגלה פרצל גדול שופרסל |
I
saw a Facebook coupon that was roaming the Hebrew coupon websites for a box of Shufersal
brand Big Pretzel Twists.
Pretzels are my salty snack of choice, of all pretzels available these days I most prefer jumbo salt pretzels (with flat pretzels coming in at a close second) so I was really curious to see how these Shufersal big pretzels compared to the Bagel Bagel jumbo ones I usually buy.

(Sorry the coupon is expired by now. I only found the product in my local Shufersal the day before the coupon expired and I didn’t have time to taste it and write a post about it before now)

Carmit’s Strawberry Filled Marshmallows
כרמית מרשמלו ממולא בטעם תות |
Each marshmallow is 3 cm. in diameter and has a
slight pyramid like shape to it, once it “fluffs” back up after coming out of
its individual wrapper. I thought it looked cute and could make a nice topping
for a cupcake, ice cream or something like that, because it kind of looks like
a nicely swirled dollop of fluff that would make a pretty decoration for a
dessert.

Nestlé’s Granoleda Yogurt Sandwich
גלידות נסטלה גרנולידה |
On the same
day that the local meteorologists were predicting a major winter storm with
strong winds, lots of rain and possible snow in many parts of Israel
both Nestlé Ice Cream and Strauss Ice Cream thought it would be the perfect day
to announce their new summer of 2012 lines of ice cream. Not all of them will
be in the stores right away, some will only be available after Pesach, but I’m
from the school of thought that any day of the year, no matter how cold and
wintery it may be outside, is still the perfect day for ice cream, so
I was more than excited to read about the products that I have to look forward
to as we get closer to spring and summer.
Still, I chose to post about the first
Nestlé ice cream product as we are having a nice mini spring time heat wave
(what a difference a week can make). I do
plan on trying something from the Strauss line as well but today I will tell
you about Nestlé's Granoleda Ice Cream Sandwich.

Wrigley’s Zephyr/Strawberry 5 Gum
מסטיק פייב בטעם תות - זייפר |
Wrigley’s
5 have a new sugar-free gum on the market. This time they went for a
strawberry flavored gum.
As I mentioned, in a response to a comment left on my blog a few days ago, Israel was given the “honor” of being the first country in
the world to début this new Zephyr 5 Gum. The press release I read mentioned
that due to the major success past 5 Gum flavors had on the local market Wrigley’s
decided to have Israel be the first county to start selling this new flavor.
I don’t
know when it’s expected to be in stores in the rest of the world. I do know
that when I looked for it here in Israel earlier in the week I couldn’t find it
but today I found it where ever I looked.

Telma’s Cocoman Cookies/Rice Crispy Treats
תלמה קוקומן קוקי |
Given how popular Rice Crispy Treats are in other parts of the world and taking into account all the cereal bars on the local market I’ve often wondered why no Israeli company has a Rice Crispy Treat in their line of products. I was kind of pleasantly surprised to see that Telma finally got on the bandwagon.
They’ve come out with 2 different flavored Rice Crispy Treats. The first flavor is the Classic Rice Crispy Treat topped with a chocolate zig zag and the second flavor is a Chocolate Flavored Rice Crispy Treat with the same chocolate zig zag on top.
