In this weekend’s newspaper I read that Israel Coca-Cola Company;
who makes Nestea Ice Tea, is changing the name to Fuze Tea.
They wrote that the ice tea, all the flavors, will be the exact same ice tea in
every which way, just the name and packaging is changing.
I have no idea why or
exactly when they are changing the name and packaging but I thought I would
just post about it and let you know what it said in the paper, so when you see the ice tea in the store you will know it's the same product just new packaging.
Disclaimer: No one is paying me for this post.
Gotta say I like the original design much better. Wonder y they r changing the name as well
ReplyDeleteI agree I like the original design better as well. If at some point I find out why they are changing it I will be sure to update this post:)
DeleteWill they be doing the same in USA?
ReplyDeleteI don't know, good question. The announcement I read said Coke-Cola Israel Co. but that doesn't mean it will not happen in other countries too, I have no idea? Does the current bottle of Nestea in the USA look the same as it does here?
DeleteCoca cola globally ended its marketing agreement with Nestea on January 2012, So it could probably change elsewhere too.

Thanks for letting me know the reason so I guess it will change worldwide and not just here. Glad to know why its changing. Thanks
DeleteI just hope it doesn't mean a recipe reformulation cuz as of now it's the only brand of bottled iced tea that I like
ReplyDeleteFrom what it says they are not going to change the ice tea itself so hopefully you should be able to continue enjoying the ice tea you like.
DeleteI read the same thing is going to happen in Hungary. The look and the flavour was the same there as in Israel.
ReplyDeleteTo be honest I don't mind them moving away from the name that has an instant tea granules vibe to it.
Oh only Israel and Hungary interesting I thought in other countries too.
DeleteThanks for the info;)
Supersal have labelled it "nestea fuze tea" which Im not sure nestea will be so pleased about.
ReplyDeleteBasically though after tasting "Fuze Tea", I cant tell any difference. Fuze is now heavily marketed probably to integrate the brand before summer is over,
ps. ugly colour packaging.
Fuze = YUCK. It is not the same tea, it is flavored very differently - at least here in the Washington DC area by Mid-Atlantic Coca-Cola. Horrible stuff. I'm not fond of Pepsico, but I'll drink Lipton from machines before I'll buy more Fuze. Gross.
ReplyDeleteIt is not the same drink, unfortunately, at least here in the US. They are now using artificial sweeteners (though high fructose corn syrup is still the second ingredient) and it is not labeled as diet. I would guess that they made some other change(s) as well. Personally, I love Nestea but am finding Fuze disgusting.
ReplyDeleteFuze is not Nestea Ice tea.
ReplyDeleteI can't even drink that Fuze stuff.... that recipe is a disaster on a different level. Somebody bring back the Nestea diet iced tea... it was pefect.
Thank God I found this post, and who had this bright idea? Yuck is the first thing that comes to mind. It has an awful after taste that reminds me of a diet drink. This is so unfortunate since I don't drink soda. Reminds me of when several years ago Coke temporarily changed it's classic, then promptly switched back. I just hope the same happens here!
ReplyDeleteI have a feeling the Fuze Tea here in Israel is not the same as the Fuze Tea in the USA (and maybe other places in the world) because it seems that people who taste it here in Israel think it is exactly like the old Nestea we had here before but many people in the USA seem to be saying its very different and they really do not like it. I have yet to try the new Fuze tea or the new Nestea here, if or when I do taste them I will add my thoughts to this post or in a comment
ReplyDeleteThanks for all the comments on this post
D
It is likely very different. The "Fuze" tea in the US has an artificial sweetener in it called sucralose, also know as Splenda. It has this in addition to high fructose corn syrup. Using two sweeteners in a beverage is just an overall bad idea, and leads to it tasting odd.
DeleteDoes it have the artificial sweetener called sucralose in the non diet Fuze Tea as well as the diet one??
DeleteThat could be why so many Americans are saying it tastes so different and they dislike it,
I don't see that or splenda on the ingredient list of the Israeli version of Fuze tea.
To the best of my knowledge splenda is not used or sold here in Israel- maybe some stores that have many imported product do carry splenda from time to time but I have never found it on any store shelf that I shop at.
