Elite's Gummifletzet Candies

Elite's latest gummy candy is actually another nostalgic re-release like the Neshikolada or the Alma gums. I couldn’t find any information about the older version; like when it was popular, how long ago it disappeared from the shelf and if/how it was different to these new Gummifletzet candies. Since I personally don’t remember them I'll just tell you about these new gummies. If you remember the old version I'd love to hear about them in the comments below.


Like the Neshikolada chocolate bars, the name of these jelly-sweets is also a combination of two words. The two words were joined together by Elite to make a new make-believe word to suit their candy. So Gummifletzet is the combination of the words GUMMY and MIFLETZET. The gummy part is kind of self explanatory, given that this is a chewy gelatin-type candy. The word Mifletzet means monster, these candies are monster-shaped gummies. So when you put the two words together you get Gummifletzet.

These fruit flavored gummies come in three different shapes. One is a snake shaped gummy with a ring-like mouth on the end. The second one is shaped like little faces with cat-like ears. Finally the third one, which intrigued me most,

is a gummy that has a face shape on one side and a foot shape on the other. When you look at the piece from the face side the feet sort of look like the monsters ears. I think that's cute and original. You're meant to join two of them together to create your own colorful inventive monster. I think that could be fun and creative for the kids to play with as they eat their snack.

The snake gummy comes in both a sour and a sweet version whereas the cat-ear's face shaped gummies are only available in the sour sugared option. The "mix and match" monsters are available in a sweet gummy as well as a whipped sweet gummy.

The light and fluffy whipped ones are new to me, I don't think I have ever tasted a whipped gummy before. Based on the flavor, I did enjoy it, I think the whipped gummies are a nice addition to the gummy candy family. 

Flavor-wise, I could absolutely smell the fruit flavors when I opened the bags. These gummies are all made with real fruits. The fruit is mashed into the candy mixture. There are no artificial flavorings used in any of the Gummifletzet candies. The fact that they're made with real fruits is a plus but they still have plenty of sugar and glucose syrup in them, so they are by no means healthy.

Each bag has an assortment of fruit flavors including pineapple, lemon, strawberry and orange for the sour sugared ones. Pineapple, lemon, strawberry and grape flavor for the sweet gummies and the whipped sweet ones are made with banana, pineapple, strawberry and orange. I could actually tell what fruit each candy was made with based on the aroma and taste of each gummies I tried.

All of the Gummifletzet candies are on the softer side and therefore also suitable for children but they are not recommended for kids under the age of 5.

Bottom Line: I liked some of the flavors better than others but since there are so many options to choose from I think most kids will find a Gummifletzet that they'll enjoy. As a whole I think the Gummifletzet candies are fun and tasty. Kids seem to love interesting shaped colorful treats. And when there's a website (coming in a few days) with games based on the candy, it makes it all that much more fun and exciting. Just be sure not to throwaway your bag until you jot down the special code written inside. I'm not sure how or why the code helps but from what I understand, your kids may need the code for some of the games on the website.
